About the Class - Year 1 Mursley
Hello my name is Mrs Reyolds and I teach Year 1 at Mursley. I work with Mrs Willoughby and Mrs Orr who are the Year 1 teaching assistants.
As a class we work very hard but also have lots of fun learning new things!
Each morning we have literacy and numeracy. We use drama techniques in literacy to support our learning and understanding. The children use their next step marking in books to improve their work and take their own learning forward.
The children are awarded raffle tickets for good work and behaviour and showing good manners. We have a celebration assembly each week where we award children with a handwriting award, star and work of the week and draw the raffle.
We enjoy going out on school trips and also having visitors into school to support our learning.
The children have weekly homework which includes some creative tasks.
We enjoy PE at Mursley and use the local village halls for our dance and gymnastic sessions. The children have the opportunity during the summer term for weekly swimming lessons at Swanbourne House School.
The children in Year 1 and Year visit the Swanbourne wood each week to take part in Forest School. They enjoy exploring and learning from the outside environment.
