About the Class - Foundation Drayton Parslow
Our Foundation Stage is a happy, busy environment where children are encouraged to develop independence and a love of learning under the guidance of Mrs Sandmann and Miss Hone. We plan activities based on real experiences in order to stimulate and challenge the children, and are often out and about in the school minibus shopping for our cooking supplies, exploring the outdoors at Forest School or visiting nearby locations to support our topic work. We have recently enjoyed visits to MK Gym, Aylesbury Fire Station, College Lake and Blackberry Farm RSPCA centre. Our children learn through carefully planned, play-based activities, both outdoors and indoors. They enjoy rising to class challenges and proudly add their star to the Challenge Tree.
Parslow Bear is a valued class member who likes to spend the weekend with each child in turn, recording his adventures in his special diary.
We like to involve parents as much as possible; topic planning is a shared process and our 'Wishing' board invites wishes for classroom activities to be made – each week a wish can come true. We love to invite parents into school regularly to share their children's successes and achievements, and also for special events, such as our recent Pet Show.
